Anything Goes Challenge

This is the last challenge of the  Krafty Girls blog for the summer. I have really been motivated by participating in these challenges and have enjoyed working with the other design team members. I am on vacation this week so I won't be making a video to go along with this blog post.

I chose to share a paper owl corsage with ribbons that I made for my daughter-in-law Kristin's baby shower. I got the idea from a similar one on Pinterest Click to View.  I started with a 4 inch owl, cut from the Cricut Create-a-critter cartridge. I intended for it to be worn by Kristin at the shower but once I added the ribbons it was a little too big to be worn as a corsage, so we ended up using it to decorate the diaper cake that my daughter Hannah made from disposable diapers and receiving blankets.

The Owl corsage.

Here is a picture of the diaper cake.

There is a cute stuffed owl at the top. Hannah used a pre-decorated hat box from Hobby Lobby as the base for the cake. She watched some YouTube videos to learn how to put it together.

I also made a banner for the shower using the Cricut Create-a-Critter cartridge for the owls and the Birthday Bash cartridge for the the banner pennants and Font. I attached the owls to the string by attaching small clothes pins to the back using my ATG gun.

The light source was coming from above and it made it difficult to get a strait on shot, so this is an angled shot. Hope you can still make it out. Check out my Pinterest Board to see all the Pins that inspired me. Thanks for all your support. Carol

  4. Carol this is so stinking cute! I love how the color scheme is a little nontraditional and fun. It is such a great idea to use as a corsage, and that banner is perfection! I loved being a Krafty Girl with you, and I can't wait to see your future videos and projects. :)
